From a star to a mere passenger, that’s been the story of West Indian mystery spinner Sunil Narine in the eighth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Narine, who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL, was banned from bowling last year during the Champions League Twenty20 but later remodelled his action and got him cleared for the tournament. Later, he was reported for his suspect action just before Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) game and since that game, Narine hasn’t featured in any match for his franchise.

Finally, there will be few smiles for KKR fans as Narine has been cleared to bowl by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Suspect Bowling Action Committee with a ‘final warning’. (IPL tweet)
The West Indian underwent another biomechanical test at the Sri Ramachandra Sports Sciences Centre in Chennai last week after being banned by the BCCI from bowling off-spin.
However, if any other incident of chucking takes place, Narine can well see him getting banned from the rest of the IPL.
