Indian legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, along with Australian giants Shane Warne and Ricky Ponting, will be seen once again in action in the United States in November. The trio have been named in the horde of former cricketing stars who will promote the game of cricket in the United States in the month of November.
Tendulkar and Warne, who are the brains behind this initiative, will lead the two All-Star sides in three-match Twenty20 (T20) series. The series has been sanctioned by ICC where cricketers like Brad Haddin and Matthew Hayden will also feature. Former cricket legends like Brian Lara, Courtney Walsh, Curtly Ambrose, Muttiah Muralitharan, Wasim Akram and Jacques Kallis have also confirmed their presence. The matches will take place in the baseball grounds of New York, Los Angeles and Houston.
Speaking to cricket.com.au, Warne said, âWeâve signed all the top players youâd ever want to see. Iâm excited for cricket fans in the United States to be able to see these amazing players for the first time.â
Tendulkar too shared his thoughts, saying, âAmericans are so passionate about sports, and I think thereâs a huge potential for cricket to take off. Weâre also planning some other events and festivities in each city so we can reach as many fans as possible. It would be great some day to see cricket bats right alongside the baseball bats, basketballs and soccer balls in America.â The fans will be eagerly awaiting as the first encounter starts on November 7 in New York.
