Twitter reacts to former cricketer Kirti Azad’s allegations of Corruption in Delhi Cricket Body

Former cricketer and a Member of Parliament of ruling Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) from Darbhanga constituency, Kirti Azad is currently addressing media at the Press Club in New Delhi. Azad is making some sensational allegations of corruption in Delhi Cricket Body Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).

The press conference that is being addressed by Azad witnessed a sting operation in the form of an audio video presentation that reportedly WikiLeaks4India has produced. The video alleges DDCA had hired a laptop and a printer for Rs. 16,000 and Rs. 3,000 respectively per day. It also alleges the DDCA has given contracts to companies with fake addresses.

Azad has been flanked by former cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi and a few officials of the DDCA in the conference. Bedi is well known for his outspoken nature and for being critical of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on different occasions. The DDCA has been making the news of late with the role of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley coming under scanner.

Jaitley, who is a former DDCA President has come under heavy criticism for some of the decisions taken during his tenure. A lot of cricketers including the likes of Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and Ishant Sharma have thrown their weight behind Jaitley citing their full support to the beleagured admnistrator.

Azad started out by saying he’s a big fan of Prime Minister Modi and his campaign against corruption. He further claimed that his fight isn’t personal, but against corruption.
