Twitter reacts to South Africa’s batting collapse at Johannesburg
The third Test of the Basil D’Oliveira Trophy between South Africa and England witnessed a dramatic phase when the hosts batting collapsed like ninepins. The Proteas were dismantled for a paltry score of 83 runs in their second innings further letting the momentum drift away drastically.
This is also the second lowest Test innings total for South Africa at Johannesburg since their readmission. English speedster Stuart Broad ripped through the South Africa batting line up and chipped wickets in quick succession. He had six South African scalps to his name including the prized wickets of AB de Villiers and Hashim Amla.
Broad steamed in and bowled with unrivalled confidence, he looked in good form and was hitting the right length. He created trouble for the hosts from the outset at Johannesburg. Ben Stokes too chipped in couple of wickets along with James Anderson and Steven Finn accounting for one wicket each.
South African batsmen had no idea and looked clueless in front of the pumped English attack. England are well in to the game and have a target of 74 runs which shouldn’t be a tough ask for the visitors. Twitterati reacted to this dismal batting display by the hosts and have taken to their accounts to express their disappointment.
