Twitterati blasts Greg Chappell over comment on Indian team

Former Australian captain Greg Chappell is one of the most controversial characters in world of cricket. Be it as player, captain or coach, his knack of attracting controversies and getting involved into one has been tagged along over the years. When Chappell became the coach of Indian cricket team back in 2005, he was heavily criticised for developing difficult relationship with key players like Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid. He grabbed the headlines for first dropping Ganguly and then asking Sachin Tendulkar to do the skipper’s hat. He remained the coach of the side only for two years but Chappell has been always considered to be man behind breaking the then Indian side.

Now, with the appointment of former Indian Test captain Anil Kumble as Indian head coach, Chappell is back in the headlines by commenting on Indian team. He said, “Indian teams have tried to take short-cuts rather than work hard.” Well, he also praised on Kumble’s appointment as coach but cricket fans on social media took his comment seriously and soon his name started trending.
