Video: Darren Sammy thanks fans for their birthday wishes

The affable Sammy has a simple and honest nature which reflects on his on-field performance as well and makes him a hit amongst the fans. Also Read: Darren Sammy: 25 little known facts about the ever-smiling West Indian

Sammy brought in his birthday away from home in Australia where he is playing in the Big Bash League (BBL) for the Hobart Hurricanes. After getting so much love in the form of wishes on the special occasion, Sammy decided to convey his thanks to the fans through a special video message. He captured a small video, which can be seen below, and posted it through his official Instagram account.

Sammy, who recently got his head shaved, took a dig at himself during the video by saying he’s covered his bald head with a cap. Apparently, his West Indies team-mate Chris Gayle was upset with his shaving act and had conveyed the same through a comment on his previous post. Though Sammy had an off-day on the field on his birthday, as he performed miserably and his side lost to Sydney Sixers, the video suggests Sammy had a nice time off-the field.
