There was a time when India were one of the weakest fielding sides but now the tables have turned and they are among the best. Players like Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh and Ravindra Jadeja are livewires on field and restrict every possible run with their athleticism. They not only save runs but also take wickets with their throwing. ICC World T20 2016, Super 10, Pick of the Tweets: India vs New Zealand at Nagpur
In the ongoing match of ICC World T20 2016 of super 10 stage between India and New Zealand at Nagpur, Raina effected an excellent run out off his own bowling. New Zealand were already struggling and then Raina struck with his fielding. Off the third ball of the 12th over, Raina bowled a decent length ball to Corey Anderson, which he played towards the bowlerâs left. Raina moved quickly in his follow through and dived to field the ball, he tumbled as he collected the ball and backhanded it on to the stumps, Ross Taylor was found short of crease. It was an unbelievable piece of fielding. Watch it.
Raina went on to bowl his quota of four overs, gave away 16 runs and claimed the wicket of Kane Williamson. Even South African legend Jonty Rhodes, who is regarded as the greatest fielder ever, praised Raina for his exceptional effort. He tweeted:
