Indiaâs limited overs vice captain Virat Kohli has been in the news in the recent times either for his batting or for his on-field aggression. First, it was the on field banter with James Faulkner and then the animated send-off to Steve Smith following his dismissal in the first Twenty20 International (T20I) against India at Adelaide on Tuesday. Kohli was pumped up after cupping the catch of Smith and gave an epic send off to him.
Later, it was revealed that Smith had a mic on and was in a live chat with Channel Nine commentators while batting. On Friday, Kohli explained that he had no idea about the mic being on and wasn’t aware about the Australian batsman being in a live chat. âI had no idea he had the mic on,â Kohli said to Daily Telegraph.
As reported by PTI, Kohli further added and commented about Smith on having a go at Indian bowlers, âHe (Smith) was sort of having a go at our junior bowlers after hitting a boundary he was having a go at them so I told the umpires to keep an eye out otherwise I would have to step in. They did nothing and in the end I told him that he could go talk in the change room. It had nothing to do with the commentary.â
