Virat Kohli replaces MS Dhoni as PepsiCo Icon

India’s Test skipper Virat Kohli has replaced MS Dhoni as the brand icon of PepsiCo, news, which struck like a storm to many. As per the latest announcement by PepsiCo, it has been reported that the company will be terminating its 11-year association with Dhoni. Dhoni’s international career is certainly witnessing a downfall after retiring from the Test side. And this news came a couple of days after he failed to carry his team over the line int he first T20I against West Indies at Florida on Saturday. Dhoni, who once had 18 brands in his pocket is now reported to be the ambassadors of less than 10 which is an indication of him losing popularity. PepsiCo VP for beverages, Vipul Prakash, was quoted in a report from media as saying, “At PepsiCo, our focus in advertising and marketing is to make our products the hero and celebrate the hero. The idea will always play the most important role. If there’s a role for the celebrity that helps take forward the idea of celebrating our product, we’re more than happy to taking it further.”

Dhoni needs more ODI wins under his belt or soon we will see Kohli replacing him as the limited-overs captain too.z`
