It’s wedding bells ringing for the cricketers. There were gossips about Pakistani cricketer Sarfraz Ahmed’s marriage and it became a reality when he announced to tie the knot with Khushbakht Aftab, daughter of a former umpire on May 19.

According to a report from ANI, Sarfraz’s Mehndi is on May 17 while his Valima ceremony will be held on May 25. On the very first day, the wicket-keeper cum batsman will be dressed up in cream Sherwani and a maroon head wear. The wedding events are designed by Humayun Alamgir and it is said that the designer has incorporated Sarfraz’s jersey number 54 in Sherwani by putting 54 boxes to its sleeves.

Sarfraz later said that his marriage was initially going to take place in June, but now with the Zimbabwe tour being scheduled, May 19 has been finalised for the auspicious event.

In the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, the wicket-keeper batsman was primarily not selected to play in first four matches. He got a chance in the fifth match and grabbed his opportunity with open hands when he scored 49 off 49 deliveries against South Africa and took six catches to equal the world record for the most number of dismissals in a One-Day International (ODI).

He also won the Man of the match in the next match against Ireland, where he scored an unbeaten 101 and led Pakistan to the quarter-finals of the mega event.
