What scares AB de Villiers more than the “deadly” sharks

AB de Villiers can do incredible things with the bat and is called a Superman on the cricket field, but off it, he is another fun loving guy from next door.

Being scared is probably the last thing one would associate with South African skipper AB de Villiers. Not many players in the game of cricket watch the ball as closely as de Villiers does. He can get on his knees; hit a fast bowler for a six even over fine-leg. They call him the best batsman in the world for a reason. On Sunday, his 24th ODI guided South Africa to a 3-2 series win over England.

He may be called a Superman on the cricket field but off it, he is another fun loving guy from next door. South Africa has some of the most incredible beaches and gives you an option to try out a range of water sports. Shark Cage Diving is an extremely popularly recreational activity in the Southern Hemisphere nation, where a tourist lowered in a shark-proof cage with the operators baiting the creatures.

On the eve of his 32nd birthday, de Villiers tweeted and expressed his true fears:

Shark cage diving today!!! With all due respect to the deadly creatures, I’m way more scared of the inevitable seasickness!!!
