Yograj Singh now criticises MS Dhoni for under bowling Yuvraj Singh; once again trends on Twitter

He has played one Test and six ODIs for India in 1980-81, but has made more news for his son’s accomplishment. More than his involvement in cricket, Yograj Singh‘s claim to fame is being Yuvraj Singh‘s father, of course his acting career and the scathing attack he makes on Indian skipper MS DhoniAn Open Letter to Yograj Singh for his rant against Kapil Dev

Dhoni, once again found himself in the receiving end. Yograj has not forgotten or forgiven the fact that Yuvraj spent almost two years out of the national side. In an interview with mid-day, Yograj said, “There is great pain in my heart about the way my son is being treated. Why was he dropped from the Indian team? Is it because of the (2014 World T20) final against Sri Lanka?  There are bloody 10,000 cricketers playing for the country. They have not been performing time and again, but why do you have different yardsticks for different people.”

Yograj is clearly unhappy with the way his son is being shuffled in the batting order and considers that to be one of the reasons for Yuvraj’s inconsistency since return. He adds, “After not playing international cricket for two years and then making a comeback is fantastic — hats off to him. The captain expects him to perform and then suddenly drops him to No 7 (against Bangladesh). What the f**k is happening? What is the captain trying to prove?” Yograj Singh curses MS Dhoni to be penniless one day; compares him to “Ravana”

He has advised Yuvraj not to worry and went on to attack Dhoni in his comment. “I have told my son not to worry because his time will come and that is just around the corner. Let me see MS Dhoni being dropped for two years or anybody else getting dropped and making a comeback to the Indian team and whether they score a single run,” Yograj said showing his displeasure.

Yuvraj’s left-arm orthodox played a crucial role in India’s World Cup 2011 win in India. In similar conditions, Yuvraj picked 15 wickets in the tournament. However, Dhoni has not used his bowling enough and that has further irked Yograj, who had one compared the Indian captain to mythological demon Ravana and cursed him to be “penniless” one day. Yograj Singh lashes out at MS Dhoni; accuses him of dropping son Yuvraj Singh for personal reasons

“If he (Dhoni) does not like him, he should bloody well tell the selectors about it. If he has got anything personal with him, he can take it out, but by doing this, you are destroying the team. Imagine Yuvraj not bowling on such turning wickets where he has claimed 15 wickets in the 2011 World Cup. The world is watching this,” fumed Yograj.

Oscar dreams

From Dhoni, Yuvraj to his own ambitions, Yograj, who received plaudit for his role in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, now dreams to bag an Academy Award.

“My dreams have always been larger than life. I was a superstar once. Now again I am so engaged with my work. My aim is to win the Oscars one day. I want the world to remember that I did all that against all odds when the entire world, my own family were against me,” said Yograj, who claims that he works 14 to 15 hours a day.

For his unneeded comments ahead of the crucial India-Australia encounter, once again the former cricketer-turned actor-turned harsh Dhoni critic trended on Twitter, with most either criticising or trolling him.
