The FIFA World Cup 2014 semi-finals will begin on July 9 according to Indian Standard Time (IST). There are only four teams left in the FIFA World Cup 2014 held in Brazil. Along with the hosts Brazil, the other three teams are Germany, Argentina and Netherlands. There are two European teams and two South American teams left in the tournament.
Brazil beat Colombia 2-1 in their quarter-final match. But their progress came with a cost. Star striker Neymar fractured his vertebrae after being kneed in the back by Juan Zuniga. Neymar has been ruled out for the remainder of the FIFA World Cup 2014. Brazil will also be without captain Thiago Silva, who will serve a one-match suspension. Brazil face Germany, who beat France 1-0. The Brazil versus Germany clash will be held at Belo Horizonte on July 9 according to IST.
The other semi-final will be between Argentina and Netherlands at Sao Paulo on July 10 according to IST. Argentina edged out Belgium 1-0 in their quarter-final match. Netherlands were held to a 0-0- draw after extra time by Costa Rica. But the Dutch progressed with a 4-3 win in the penalty shootout. the third-place play-off will played at Brasilia on July 13 IST. The final will be played at Rio de Janeiro on July 14 IST.
