Columbia take on Greece in the FIFA World Cup 2014 in a Group C match at Belo Horizonte on June 14. This is the first match in Group C in the 20th edition of the FIFA World Cup. Both Columbia and Greece are considered to be in a relatively easier group with Ivory Coast and Japan. The latter two teams play afterwards in the day.


South American team Columbia enter the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil ranked eighth. Greece are ranked 12th ahead of their opening match in the FIFA World Cup 2014. This FIFA World Cup has already seen an attacking brand of football played in most of the first four matches that have been played. A total of 14 goals have been scored in those four matches. One could expect a more pragmatic match between Columbia and Greece.

The FIFA World Cup 2014 will run for a month as the final is on July 13 in Rio de Janeiro. A total of 32 teams will participate in the tournament. There will be eight groups [Group A to Group H] with four teams each. All the teams will play three matches each in the group stage. A win is worth three points, while a draw will gain one point and a loss means no points will be added.


The top two teams will qualify for the Round of 16s. From there the winners will progress to the quarter-finals, then the semi-finals and the last two victorious teams will play in the final.
