One of the least favorites to win the Euro 2016, Switzerland will hope to provide a surprise, knowing there is no weight of expectations on their shoulders. Despite not being a powerhouse, they have got fair share of decent players in the squad. Their first and foremost objective will be to qualify from the group, which also have hosts France, Albania and Romania. In terms of qualification to Euro 2016, they finished as runners-up to England, winning seven of their 10 matches. They will look to banish their past record, which has been very poor. The Swiss team has only appeared in Euro twice, in 2004 and 2008. Both the times, they failed to get past the group stages.

Switzerland are managed by the experienced Vladimir Petkovic, who formerly managed Lazio in Italy. The Swiss team will rely on their midfield for success. The star man Xherdan Shaqiri will be the key for Switzerland. The former Bayern Munich player has the ability to breeze past his opponents with ease, and score beauties with his left foot. He will be well supported by Liverpool new-boy Granit Xhaka and Fabian Frei.
