Johannesburg: Unai Emery has been appointed as Paris Saint-Germain new manager for two years, the Ligue One club confirmed on Tuesday. The 44-year-old Spaniard, who guided Sevilla to three successive Europa League titles, replaced Laurent Blanc at the helm of the French club. Reflecting on his appointment, Emery expressed that he was eager to meet his new players and staff, adding that he would give his best to help the club achieve further glory, Sport24 reported. Meanwhile, PSG owner Nasser al-Khelaifi stated that Unai will ‘bring to the club all his experience, his passion and his strong management skills and human qualities.’

On Monday, Blanc left his role with the French giants after leading PSG to three league titles and domestic trebles in the last two years as coach. However, he failed to guide them past the quarterfinals of the Champions League in each of his three seasons in charge.
