Delhi Daredevils (DD) scored 167 for four against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) after winning the toss and batting first in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015 match at Visakhapatnam. Half-centuries from Shreyas Iyer and JP Duminy powered Delhi through their middle-overs. DD could have scored a lot more, but some good bowling by SRH restricted them to their eventual score.

Iyer lit up the first half of the innings with his dazzling strokeplay. The exuberance of youth was quite evident as Iyer played with a touch of fearlessness. With him going strong at one end, JP Duminy went almost unnoticed at the other. Iyer took the attack to the bowlers and helped DD recover after an iffy start. They had lost Mayank Agarwal early in the innings when he edged one from Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Live Scorecard: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) vs Delhi Daredevils (DD) IPL 2015 Match 13

Through the innings, David Warner tried to shuffle his bowlers around to keep the DD batsmen guessing. But, Iyer s attacking methods bore fruit. Karn Sharma bore the brunt of that as he was smashed around with disdain. Iyer would use his feet and reach the pitch of the ball to smash it down the ground. He was also unafraid while playing on the rise against the fast bowlers. Iyer became DD s youngest half-century in the IPL, as stated by Mohandas Menon. He was ultimately dismissed for 60 when he mistimed a shot off Praveen Kumar. Live Updates: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) vs Delhi Daredevils (DD) IPL 2015 Match 13

Yuvraj Singh walked out to huge cheers, but it was now Duminy s turn to shine. The DD captain picked up pace and smashed a few boundaries to move to his fifty. At the other end, Dale Steyn had bowled a good spell on return. He was brought into the side in place of Trent Boult and did extremely well to concede only 27 runs in his four overs. Most notably, he dismissed Duminy off the last ball of his spell. Off the next ball of the new over, Yuvraj was brilliantly caught by Warner at deep mid-wicket. DD were suddenly in a small spot.

It was a jolt that hit DD’s hopes. There could have soared to score a big one, but their run-rate took a blow. Angelo Mathews and Kedar Jadhav took their time as SRH bowled very well after those two overs. In the penultimate over, they managed to pick a couple of sixes to boost their score a touch. But, in hindsight, DD would know that they could have put up more runs on the board. SRH bowlers shared the spoils with a wicket apiece.

Brief scores:

Delhi Daredevils 167 for 4 in 20 overs (Shreyas Iyer 60, JP Duminy 54) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad.
