Puducherry, riding on tons from outstation player Paras Dogra (101) and skipper Rohit D (138) posted 389 in their first innings before reducing Meghalaya to 161/6.

However, a rearguard effort, led by Meghalaya’s outstation player Yogesh Nagar and A Singhania (42), ensured Meghalaya got closer to Puducherry total. However, aa triple-wicket burst by Pankaj Singh had Meghalaya lose their last three wickets for zero runs, thus conceding a lead of 63 runs. Pankaj Singh returned 6/39.

In reply, Puducherry found themselves in a bit of a trouble after Gurinder Singh reduced the hosts from 94/1 to 95/4. M Viknesh made 47, while PAras Dogra could only add 16.

Brief Scores: Puducherry 95/4 (M Viknesh 47; Gurinder Singh 4/29) & 389 lead Meghalaya 326 (Yogesh Nagar 141*, Punit Bisht 58; Pankaj Singh 6/39) by 158 runs.

In other groups, A superb all-round show from Jalaj Saxena took Kerala closer to victory against Andhra on Day 3 of their Round 2, Ranji Trophy 2018-19 Elite Madhya Pradesh adopted a cautious approach on Day 3 of their Ranji Trophy 2018-19, Elite Group B, Round 2 clash against Bengal. Railways had their noses ahead with a 130-run lead in their second dig against Saurashtra.
