After being bundled out for 106 in their first innings, Nagaland showed fight following on to end day three at 332/8, but this seems not enough as they lead Meghalaya by just 49 runs and have two wickets in hand in Round 3 of Ranji Trophy 2018-19 season on Thursday at the MCA Cricket Ground, Polo Ground, Shillong.

Starting the day at 31/0, Nagaland openers Nitesh (38) and Sedehailze (68) added 67 runs for the opening wicket before Nitesh was taken by Dippu. Nagaland soon slumped to 112/4, losing three wickets for just 45 runs. A Singhania removed KB Pawan for 11 while Dippu accounted for skipper Rongsen Jonathan for zero. Zhimoni was the fourth wicket to fall when he was trapped in front by Singhania.

However, Abrar Kazi, who hit an unbeaten 200 in the Nagaland s first Ranji Trophy game got added 140 runs for the fifth wicket with Paras (57) to steady the innings. KAzi went on to remain unbeaten on 129 even as Meghalaya picked two more quick wickets in the form of Imliwati (4) and Tahmeed (6), to leave Nagaland reeling at 332/8, effectively, 49/8.

For Meghalaya, Singhania took 3/46 while Gurinder Singh and Dippu took two wickets each.
