Ranji Trophy: Gurinder Singh’s 99 and 11 wickets help Meghalaya crush Mizoram by an innings and 324 runs

Meghalaya trampled bottom-placed Mizoram to secure a mammoth innings-and-324-run win over them inside two days of Plate group Ranji Trophy 2018-19 match at Shillong on Friday.

Starring with a phenomenal all-round effort was Gurinder Singh who followed figures of 5/15 by scoring 99 and then claiming 6/41, his best figures.

Meghalaya ended the first day with a lead of 206 and on the second, marched to 510 with Yogesh Nagar scoring 144 and Gurinder unfortunately dismissed on 99.

Mizoram were bowled out for 100 in 38.3 overs, with Sinan Khadir’s 30 the best score followed by 28 from Taruwar Kohli.

The win has bumped Meghalaya up two places to second spot on the Plate Group points table.
