Bihar, second last in the points table with just one points from two games, chose to bat first against Sikkim, who are played joint-second with 13 points in Plate.

Bihar had a terrible start with losing opener Indrajit Kumar for 0 to outstation player Ishwar Chaudhary. Bihar then slumped further and found themselves in a hole at 47/5 with Chaudhary claiming two more in the form of skipper Babul Kumar (16) and Rahmat Ullah (6). Another outstation player Bipul Sharma claimed opener Kumar Rajnish for 18, Keshav Kumar for 4 and Vikash Ranjan for 28.

A run-out by the third outstation player Milind Kumar that of Utkarsh Bhaskar meant Bihar fell to 115/7. However, Ashutosh and Vivek defied Sikkim for the reminder of the day adding 141 runs between them for the eighth wicket. Ashutosh scored 89 while Vivek made 72 to lend respectability to the Bihar total.

But Sikkim ended the day well with Chaudhary claiming three wickets in eight overs removing Vivek, Ashutosh and Vishal Das (4) to finish with 6/78 in 20.5 overs.
