Table-toppers in Plate, Uttarakhand, continued their good run in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy season bundling out Arunachal Pradesh for a paltry 105 on day one of round four of the tournament, before finishing the day at 176/3, taking a lead of 71 runs at D N Singha Stadium, Goalpara on Wednesday.

Uttarakhand who have 20 points from three games opted to bowl first and despite not fielding their star bowler Deepak Dhapola, Uttarakhand had a good start with Girish Raturi claiming Arunachal’s two wickets early in the form of Samarth Seth (6) and Myendung Singpho (6). Mayank Mishra added the wicket of Techi Doria for 13 to leave Arunachal reeling at 46/3.

That became 48/4 when Akhilesh Sahani was sent packing by Mishra for a duck, followed by the wicket of skipper Kamsha Yangfo (0) by Mishra again.

The lower-order also failed to put up any kind of resistance as Neelam Obi fell to Malolan Rangarajan (7), Techi Neri (7), Subhash Sharma (0) got out to Sunny Rana. Rana added his third when he removed Licha Tehi for 4.

Middle-order batsman Kshitiz Sharma waged a lone battle scoring 57 and was the last man to fall to Mishra. Mishra finished with 4/43 while Rana slaimed 3/30.

In reply, Uttarakhand lost their openers Vineet Saxena (6) and Piyush Joshi (7) early. Subhash claimed Saxena while Tehi got rid of Joshi. However, Uttarakhand were buoyed a 148-run stand for the third wicket by Kartik Joshi and Vaibhav Panwar. Panwar made 59 before falling to Neri. Joshi remained unbeaten on 99 at close of play with Saurabh Rawat (4*) for company.
