Bihar bowlers ransacked Arunachal Pradesh, bundling out the North-East team to 84 before piling on 250/1 in reply, thus taking a lead of 166 runs in the opening day of round five of Ranji Trophy 2018-19 at Moin-ul-Haq Stadium, Patna on Thursday.

Opting to bowl first, Vivek Kumar provided Bihar with the first breakthrough when the pacer castle Samarth Seth for 6 and he followed it up with the wicket of Akhilesh Sahani for 6 and Kshitiz Sharma for 1.

Debutant pacer Rehan Khan then send back Indiya Toku (5) and skipper Kamsha Yangfo (0) in quick time. With the fall of opener Techi Doria, who had scored 33 at the top, taken by Samar Quadri, the floodgates opened for Ashutosh Aman to wipe out the tail in no time as he claimed the last four wickets to fall to finish with 4/26. Vivek claimed 3/26 while Rehan added 2/17.

In reply, Bihar openers Indrajit Kumar and Kumar Rajnish put on 110 runs for the opening wicket before Rajnish was removed by Sandeep Kumar Thakur for 45. Indrajit then got the company of skipper Babul Kumar who scored an unbeaten 72. Indrajit got to his hundred and remained not out on 127 off 136 balls, taking Bihar to 250/1, thus taking a lead of 166.
