Darshan Misal scored an unbeaten 101 batting at No.8 and conjured 121-run stand with No.10 batsman Lakshay Garg to hand Goa an unlikely lead over Services on day two of round five of Ranji Trophy 2018-19 season at Goa Cricket Association Academy Ground, Porvorim on Friday.

After Services were bowled out for 184, Goa starting their innings at 27/1, had a batting collapse that saw them reduced to 120/8. Sumiran Amonkar was the first to go on day two cleaned up by Sachidanand Pandey for 13 followed by the wicket of Amit Verma (0) in the very next ball. Skipper Diwesh Pathania then sent back skipper Shagun Kamat for 26, Keenan Vaz for 0 and Mohammad Azharuddin’s son Mohammad Asaduddin for 2. Pathania added his fourth in the form of Snehal Kauthankar for 26 while Pandey got rid of Amulya Pandrekar for 15.

But Misal and Garg put a fantastic rearguard effort to not only revive Goa but took them past Services total. Gard was run out by Nitin Tanwar for 50 while Misal got to his century and was unbeaten at close of play on 101 off 194 ball with No.11 Vijesh Prabhudessai (0*) for company
