Chasing a target of 125 to win after bowling out Nagaland for 334, Manipur reached the target with the loss of three wickets. Skipper Yashpal Singh made an unbeaten 35 to lead his team home after opener Lakhan Arjun Rawat top-scored with 55. Mayank Raghav, the first innings double centurion made 27.

Nagaland, who started the day at 150/4 after Raghav’s 228 had helped Manipur 336, thus taking a lead of 210, went on to make 334 in their second innings. In the first, they were shot down for 126.

After finding themselves at 94/4, Nagaland’s KB Pawan and Abrar Kazi got together for a stand of 186 runs with Pawan scoring 131 and Kazi contributing 90. However, once the partnership was broken when Kazi departed to Yashpal, Nagaland lost their last five wickets for just 28 runs to finish with 334, setting Manipur an easy target of 125 runs.

Yashpal Singh claimed four of those wickets to finish with 5/46, his fourth five-wicket haul in first-class cricket.
