Services thrash Baroda by seven wickets

Services outplayed Baroda by seven wickets in a Group E match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on Monday. Baroda were all over the place with the bat and were skittled for 75 with only two batsmen entering double figures after which Services chased down the target without breaking much sweat.

Diwesh Pathania and Vikas Kumar did the bulk of the damage. After Pathania had removed Baroda openers Kedar Devdhar and Mohit Mongia, Kumar snuffed out the middle order with three wickets, including the prized scalps of Deepak Hooda and Yusuf Pathan. Vishnu Solanki and Swapnil Singh combined for three boundaries but couldn’t prevent Baroda from getting bowled out inside 100.

Services lost three wickets in their chase, with openers Nakul Harpal Verma and Ravi Chauhan falling to Swapnil. Mongia took out Gahlaut Rahul Singh before skipper Rajat Paliwal and Vikas Hathwala knocked off the remaining runs.
