After the bowlers – led by Priyojit Singh (3/23) – restricted Nagaland to 132/7, Manipur openers Mayank Raghav and Prafullomani Singh knocked off the runs in just 16.4 overs combining for an unbeaten opening-wicket stand of 134 runs.

Raghav made 80 off 45 balls with the help of four fours and six sixes while Prafullomani scored 51 off 54 balls hitting four fours and a six.

Earlier, opting to bat first, Nagaland were off to a decent start with the opening pair of debutant AJ Kaushik and Sedezhalie Rupero adding 41 runs in 6.5 overs before Rupero was scalped by Priyojit. Piryojit then proceeded to add two more wickets in the form of Kaushik for 16 and skipper Rongsen Jonathan for 5 as Nagaland slumped 55/3, losing three wickets for just 14 runs.

Nagaland failed to get out of the slump and a steady flow of wickets dented their progress. Outstation player KB Pawan was removed by Sultan Karim for 13 while Manjinder was sent back by Lamabam Singh for 14.

Outstation player Abrar Kazi then chanced his arms around scoring 36 off 22 to add some respectability to Nagaland’s total, which was eventually overhauled by Manipur.

Brief Scores: Manipur 134/0 (Mayank Raghav 80*, Prafullomani 51*) beat Nagaland 132/7 (Abrar Kazi 36; Priyojit Singh 3/23) by ten wickets.
