South African bowler Kyle Abbott has said that the rain has slowed the game and made draw more likely despite Australia reportedly being in the commanding position of 494 for 7 following the second day of the final Test in Cape Town.

Abbott said that a draw was on the cards now as the rain had slowed down the game but they would only see what happens when both the teams have batted.

According to Sport24, Abbott spearheaded a period of tight bowling by the South Africans, with the right arm medium-pacer bowling five maidens of the six overs he bowled at the cost of just one run during the morning session.

Abbott, while making a reference to his debut in Centurion in 2013, said that a year ago he was sitting at the same place having bowled exactly the seven with seven wickets behind his name, the report added.

However, Australian captain Michael Clarke said that they had got three extremely tough days ahead of them adding that it was a ”very good batting wicket” and they would have to ”bowl” very well, the report added.

Clarke (161 not-out) also said that he was happy after making a hundred, as he was ”overdue”.
