The IPL 2026 auction is scheduled to be held two days from now, on December 16th. Ahead of the IPL auction, Mumbai batsman Sarfaraz Khan played a sensational innings in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In the match against Haryana, he unleashed a flurry of fours and sixes, scoring a half-century at a strike rate of 256.
Sarfaraz Khan scored 64 runs off just 24 balls against Haryana. His innings included nine fours and three sixes. Besides Sarfaraz’s performance, Yashasvi Jaiswal also scored a century, leading Mumbai to victory against Haryana.
Sarfaraz Khan’s base price in the IPL auction is â¹75 lakh. He has been included in the first set of batsmen for the auction, which will be held on Tuesday. ââHe has previously played for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, and Delhi Capitals.
He has played 50 IPL matches. In 37 innings of those 50 matches, he has scored 585 runs, including one half-century. While Sarfaraz’s IPL record isn’t particularly impressive, his recent performances could attract interest from franchise teams.
Haryana captain Ankit Kumar (89 runs off 42 balls) and talented all-rounder Nishant Sindhu (63 runs off 38 balls) added 110 runs in just 8.1 overs, propelling their team to 234 for three in 20 overs. Mumbai, chasing Haryana’s target of 235, secured victory with contributions from Yashasvi Jaiswal (101 runs off 50 balls) and Sarfaraz Khan (64 runs off 24 balls), reaching 238 for six in 17.3 overs.
