Abdur Rehman created a dubious world record by registering completed figures of 0-0-8-0 in an international cricket match. The Pakistan left-arm spinner bowled three above the waist no-balls in-a-row against Bangladesh in the eighth match of the Asia Cup 2014 at Mirpur on March 4, 2014.
He now holds the record for giving away the most runs in a any international match across formats without registering a legal delivery.
Rehman came in and his first delivery was way wide on the off side and at head height to Imrul Kayes. It was signaled as a no-ball. The next delivery was a above the waist delivery and Kayes pulled it away on the leg side. The fielder caught the ball at the deep mid-wicket boundary, but that too was signaled as a no-ball. But oddly, he was not removed from the attack.
But the next delivery was also above the waist and Anamul pulled it away for a four towards deep mid-wicket. He was then banned from bowling in the match. Rehman bowled three no-balls in-a-row above the waist height and was barred from bowling without registering a legal delivery.
Below is a list of of bowlers who have finished a match by not registering a legal delivery across formats:
