Abhishek Sharma and Varun Chakravarthy make MASSIVE gains in latest ICC T20I rankings

While Abhishek moved to second position on the batter rankings, Chakravarthy climbed to second spot following an incredible performance in the 5-match series against England

India opener Abhishek Sharma made a huge jump of 38 places in the latest ICC T20I rankings following his fantastic knock of 135 runs from just 54 deliveries against England in the fifth T20I of the series which was held in Mumbai.

Abhishek’s fantastic knock saw India post a mammoth total of 247/9 in their 20 overs. The target of 248 proved to be too much for the visitors who got bundled out for just 93 runs as India recorded a 4-1 series victory over The Three Lions.

Abhishek is now second on the T20I batter rankings, only behind Australia’s Travis Head. The India batter is just 26 rating points behind Head.

Meanwhile, India skipper Suryakumar Yadav is currently fifth on the rankings while explosive batter Shivam Dube also moved up 38 places and reached the 58th position following a brilliant half-century in the 4th T20I.

On the other hand, mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy also moved up to third position, gaining three slots, after taking a couple of wickets each in the last two matches of the series. Chakravarthy took a highly impressive 14 wickets in the series and is also joint-second on the rankings alongside England’s Adil Rashid, who lost the top spot to West Indies spinner Akeal Hosein.

Also, India’s leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi climbed 4 places and reached the sixth spot after taking five wickets in the series against England. Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh also finds himself in top 10 at ninth place.
