Former international cricketers Adam Gilchrist and Brian Lara are all set to play in Western Australia (WA) based T20 match against the Perth Scorchers. They will be joined by other Australian legends like Dean Jones and Justin Langer for the game in exhibition match as part of the Western Australia Cricket Festival program. The match is scheduled for Monday, December 15.

The WA Cricket Festival attempts to revive the Lilac Hill Festival match that was last played in 2008, reported cricket.com.au. The Aquinas College, located in Perth’s southern suburbs, will play host to the match. Gilchrist heaped praise on the festival and seemed excited to be able to return to the playing field. “The Festival of Cricket presents the public and corporates with a unique opportunity to not only watch a high-quality T20 match in a relaxed, social environment, but also to mix and mingle with many current and past greats of the game.”

He went on to add, “The chance to run around with a bunch of old mates and pit ourselves against the current BBL Champions is exciting and sure to be entertaining for all.” Gilchrist and Langer will relish the opportunity to take the field with some of their former Australia teammates such as Andrew Symonds, Andy Bichel, Michael Kasprowicz and Jimmy Maher.
