Afghanistan have announced their squad for their tour to Australia and New Zealand. A 20-man team will visit the two countries, playing against various sides to gain some valuable practice ahead of the ICC World Cup 2015. Afghanistan have never visited Down Under and it would be their first outing in those conditions. They also have some change in personnel as Andy Moles has taken over as coach after Kabir Khan resigned.

Afghanistan first qualified for the ICC World T20 2010, but failed to make it through to the ICC World Cup 2011. However, since then, they have been regular at world events. In 2014, they also made their debut at the Asia Cup, where they recorded their first victory against a Test side, which was against Bangladesh. Mohammad Nabi will lead the side on their trip Down Under and Nawroz Mangal is also in the team.
