BCCI CEO Rahul Johri tweeted that India will play Afghanistan’s inaugural Test, welcoming them to the five-day format. Although there are no further reports on this, the date and venue are still unknown. However, if the Test is played at Greater NOIDA, whose home match will it be? Greater NOIDA is located in India, but it has been Afghanistan‘s home ground since the start of 2017. To fan the fire, India are yet to play at the venue.

Ireland, on the other hand, will play their maiden Test against Pakistan at Malahide, Dublin in 2018. Afghanistan and Ireland were given Test status on June 22 this year, becoming the 11th and 12th teams to be drafted in the longest format.
Afghanistan, for that matter, have not had any international assignments at home. They will be elated when they don the whites against the No. 1 team in Tests, India.
