How Diageo bought RCB back in the time?
When the franchise started in 2008, Vijay Mallya was the original buyer, who was also the owner of Kingfisher Airlines. He was also one of the most renowned figures in India’s liquor industry.

However, Vijay Mallya found himself in a debt trap, which caused his empire in breaking apart and giving Diageo a chance to take the ownership of the franchise through its subsidiary in India, the United Spirits.

As of now, RCB is one of the most followed sport team on social media throughout the globe. In cricketing terms, the franchise has the biggest fanbase apart from the sheer amount of failures that they have faced throughout the years in IPL.
