Ajinkya Rahane scores his maiden Test ton in India on Day Two of the fourth Test against South Africa at Delhi. This is his fifth ton in Tests overall. Rahane resumed the day unbeaten on 89 and got to the landmark early on Day Two. Rahane has not performed particularly well in this series and he will be delighted to have made a significant contribution. He now holds the key for India as they aim for a score in excess of 300. He has Ravichandran Ashwin at the other end, who is also a handy batsman lower down the order and also has a couple of centuries to his name. He too will have to stick with Rahane for as long as possible to help India’s cause. Live Cricket Scorecard: India vs South Africa 2015, 4th Test at Delhi

Rahane came in at a time when India had lost a couple of quick wickets. He then went on to build two crucial partnerships. The first one came with skipper Virat Kohli. The duo put on 70 for the fourth wicket, which stabalised the Indian innings to a certain extent. He then put on 59 with Ravindra Jadeja for the seventh wicket, which took India past the 200-run mark. Rahane is the key, if India are to get a formidable first innings total. India ended Day One at 231 for 7 and have made a decent start to Day Two as well. India had won the toss on Day One and chose to bat first. Dane Piedt picked up four wickets and Kyle Abbott chipped in with three. India have made a change to their side as Amit Mishra misses out and Umesh Yadav has been included in his place. South Africa too have made a few changes. They have roped in Piedt, Abbott and Temba Bavuma in place of Rabada, Simon Harmer and Stiaan Van Zyl.
