Alastair Cook became the first English cricketer and eighth overall to play 150 Tests. The left-hander has achieved the milestone during the third Test of The 2017-18 Ashes, at Perth. He has struggled to get going in the series, his highest thus far being 37. Cook will be eager to get England to a fitting start in their must-win encounter to retain the urn.

In 149 Tests, Cook averages over 45 including 31 hundreds and 55 fifties. He is the leading run-scorer for England (11,691* runs).

Cook made his debut against India in 2006, scoring a ton. Since then, he has scored four double-centuries against India, Pakistan, West Indies and Australia. In addition, he doesn’t average below 35 against any Test-playing nation.

Cook will look to silence his critics who have called for his retirement. England would fancy their chances of staging a comeback if Cook goes to make a big contribution at WACA, Perth.
