England‘s Test skipper, Alastair Cook, has become the most capped player from his side by taking on the field for the first Test against Bangladesh. Cook, who is a veteran in the Test squad, has achieved this feat in his remarkable career and will like to have a good outing with the bat and as a leader in the ongoing Test. Cook is coming back to international cricket after enjoying a good long break after the conclusion of four-Test series against Pakistan. He was not a part of the One-Day International (ODI) series against the subcontinental side which the visitors won 2-1 but will like to inflict more pain to the hosts’ by winning the two-Test series as well. Cook has surpassed former wicketkeeper-batsman, Alex Stewart’s record of 133 appearances in whites and looks set to carry on for long. England’s asset and frontline pacer, James Anderson is the only current player in the list who will look to challenge Cook’s record in future but still has a long way to go. Anderson is 15 matches behind Cook with 119 appearances (including the ongoing Test) whereas Cook is playing his 134th match.
