Alastair Cook set to become 1st England cricketer with 50 Test wins

The list of cricketers featuring in most Test wins is littered with Australians. In fact, they occupy seven of the top ten spots, including the top four. Ricky Ponting, of course, is head and shoulders above everyone with 108 wins (he is the only one above 100). England skipper Alastair Cook, however, has a great opportunity to carve his name in history by becoming the first England cricketer to win 50 Tests, provided England win the fourth Ashes Test at Trent Bridge that is underway. With victories in the Cardiff and Edgbaston, England are leading 2-1, only a win away to bring back the urn to England. Ponting is followed by teammates Shane Warne (92), Steve Waugh (86) and Glenn McGrath (84). Jacques Kallis and Mark Boucher are at fifth and sixth ahead of another Down Under cricketer in the form of Adam Gilchrist (73). Sachin Tendulkar (72) is next.
