Skipper Alastair Cook has warned his England teammates to avoid another ‘Kevin Pietersen fiascoâ as the team prepares for its tour to India.
Â
Controversial batsman Kevin Pietersen held talks with England coach Andy Flower and a few senior players to begin his ‘reintegrationâ process into the team following the text-message row that had erupted after the Headingly Test against South Africa earlier this year.

“Clearly, lessons from what has happened over the last two months need to be learned. You donât want the situations that have arisen because it damages English cricket and it damages the team,” Cook was quoted as saying by the Daily Express.
Â
Cook also said that he was happy captaining the England Test side and termed himself “lucky” to have the honour.
Â
“I donât know what is going to happen over the next 18 months or the next few years or however long I am lucky enough to be England captain,” he said.
Â
“You donât know what is around the corner, but throughout my career I think I have managed to deal with every situation quite well â whatever has been thrown at me. Hopefully I can take that into my captaincy as well,” Cook concluded.
