Aleem Dar sets Asian record for umpiring in most Test matches

Pakistan s Aleem Dar became the Asian umpire to officiate in most number of Test matches when he officiated in the Second Test match between England and West Indies at Trent Bridge.

Dar broke the record that was previously held by India s S Venkatraghavan, who had officiated in 73 Test matches.

The 43-year-old, who had played as a right-arm leg spinner, has thrice been adjudged the Umpire of the Year by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

“Umpiring is my passion and I would continue doing it,” Dar was quoted, as saying by zeenews.com
