Alex Hales dismissed for 9 during England vs Australia 2015, 3rd ODI at Old Trafford

England lost their first wicket with 52 runs on board after Alex Hales holed out an easy catch to Mitchell Marsh at short midwicket off the bowling of Pat Cummins during the third One-Day International (ODI) against Australia at the Old Trafford in Manchester on Tuesday. Hales, who was dismissed in a similar manner during the first ODI in Cardiff, was out after a slow innings of 9 off 31 balls, which included a solitary boundary. Hales has been in poor touch in the ongoing series so far, getting dismissed for 3 in the one-off Twenty20 International (ODI) before registering scores of 22 and 18 in the first two ODIs. England earlier won the toss and elected to bat, with Jonny Bairstow coming in place of Jos Buttler as the only change in the England playing eleven. Australia, however, made as many as three changes, with Ashton Agar, James Pattinson and Aaron Finch coming in place of the injured trio of Shane Watson, Nathan Coulter-Nile and David Warner, all of whom have been ruled out of the remainder of the tour of England. Watson and Coulter-Nile sustained injuries to their calf and hamstring respectively during the 2nd ODI at Lord’s. Finch was picked as the official replacement of Warner, who sustained an injury to his left thumb after getting hit off a Steven Finn bouncer.
