The England trio of James Anderson, Moeen Ali and Jos Buttler is available to take part in the Vitality Blast T20 Finals day for their respective county sides. The England and Wales Cricket Board announced that the three players, along with Keaton Jennings will be available for selection following England’s 4-1 Test series win over India.

Anderson, who broke Glenn McGrath’s record Test-wicket haul, is free to play for Lancashire, along with fellow English team-mates Jennings and Buttler. Lancashire Lightening will face off against Moeen’s Worcestershire Rapids in the semi-final on Saturday, which can pit these players against each other.

However, nothing has been spoken regarding whether Anderson can play the remainder of the season for Lancashire. England are scheduled to tour Sri Lanka in November and despite reports of Anderson being rested for the series, there is a belief that the 36-year-old might in fact be considered.

Buttler, who had a fabulous series against India, ending as the second-highest run-getter, played two games for Lancashire between the series but scored 0 and 16.

Moeen’s fine run with the bat for Worcestershire, where he scored 115 and 65, drafted him back in England’s Test set-up for the series against India and he will be hoping to reproduce the same spark on his return. Although, the allrounder will not be allowed to play in next week’s clash with Essex at Chelmsford after leading the Rapids on Vitality Blast finals day at Edgbaston on Saturday. Like Moeen, Lancashire’s Buttler too is to sit out the game against Hampshire in the final week.

Other notable absentees include Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow for Yorkshire, and Ben Stokes, who will be out of the remainder of Durham’s championship term. Another allrounder Chris Woakes has also been asked to rest.

England fly out for their series in Sri Lanka on September 30.
