Andhra skipper M U B Sriram carried his bat through to an unbeaten ton to help his team reach a respectable total of 195 against Tamil Nadu in the first innings of their four day under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy on Saturday.

After first two days were washed out due to cyclonic weather, Andhra, who were put in to bat by the hosts, lost wickets at regular intervals but Sriram stuck to his crease, scoring an undefeated 135 of just 184 balls.

Sriram struck 19 hits to the fence apart from two sixes during his 241 minute long vigil at the crease.

Tamil Nadu skipper and off spinner B Aparajith claimed four scalps for 60 while leg spinner P S Nirmal returned with the figures of 3 for 40.

In reply, hosts were 81 without loss in 20 overs with openers Aparajith (43) and K Bharath Shankat (29) at the crease when stumps were drawn. (PTI)
