England may have been dumped out of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 but they are doing okay off the field. Andrew Flintoff, the bulky English all-rounder, has won the Australian version of popular reality TV show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Flintoff had Australian Football league player Barry Hall and TV personality Chrissie Swan giving him tough fight till the very end. He told BBC, “An Englishman winning something in Australia, it’s unheard of.”

His journey was not that easy as hitting a few blows over mid-wicket though. As a part of his journey, he had to eat rat’s tail, was covered in elephant’s manure, had to drink cockroach laced fermented milk, and had to fall off a helicopter. On his experiences, he said, “I’m shocked. I’m stuck for words a little bit. I never expected to get this far. It’s a lot to take in really. I am shocked, surprised, pleased. I’ve got a lot of emotions going round at the minute. I’m humbled.”

However tough he may have been on the field, Flintoff is a kind man off it. He will donate the winning amount of 100,000 Australian dollars (£50,635) to the McGrath Foundation. He also confessed that him giving up alcohol did make a huge difference. He said, “One, I genuinely thought I’d had enough of it. It catches up with me in the morning. And two, I suffer with depression and it doesn’t help at all. I just hit rock bottom afterwards. So you’re far better without it.” Flintoff made a return to cricket with a stint with Brisbane Heat in the 2015 season of Big Bash League (BBL).
