Former Indian captain Anil Kumble took to Twitter to congratulate tennis stars Leander Paes and Martina Hingis on winning the US Open Mixed Doubles. Kumble, who is India’s leading wicket-taker in Test cricket, wrote on twitter “Congratulations @Leander and @mhingis on winning the Mixed Doubles at the @usopen (sic).” Martina is a Swiss tennis superstar who was the No. 1 ranked female tennis player for over 200 weeks, winning the Australian Open three times, Wimbledon twice, and US Open once. She also won ten women’s doubles titles and four mixed doubles titles. Paes is best known as a master doubles player, famously winning Olympic Gold with fellow Indian Mahesh Bhupati. Kumble, with 619 Test wickets, is comfortably India’s most prolific wicket-taker. He is also India’s leading wicket-taker in One-Day Internationals (ODIs). Kumble is also one of only two bowlers to have taken all 10 wickets in an innings in Tests. He achieved the feat when he took 10 for 74 (thus his twitter handle @anilkumble1074) against Pakistan at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi, in 1999. The other bowler to have taken all 10 wickets is English off-spinner Jim Laker, who took a mind-boggling 19 wickets in a single Test, against Australia. Indian cricketers have shown quite a liking for tennis, with Sachin Tendulkar being the most famous tennis lover among Indian cricketers, frequently attending Wimbledon finals. Kumble himself follows tennis and regularly tweets about the same. Leander Paes impresses with his cricket skills
