Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Daniel Vettori has come in support of using a second ball in the evening matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is a new rule implemented by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for IPL 2025. Daniel called it to be an efficient problem to a difficult situation.
The BCCI had announced that the ball can be changed once during the second innings of the games that will be held at evening time in order to counter dew. “I think it’s a really pragmatic answer to a difficult problem, and it doesn’t affect every ground, we know that,” Vettori told reporters on the eve of SRH’s opening match against Rajasthan Royals.
“I don’t think we experienced dew here at all last year, but Chennai, Mumbai I think in particular, so it’s just a nice solution for everyone to come up with, and I think it will work really well,” he added.
The IPL has begun with Kolkata Knight Riders facing Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. As of now, KKR have played their innings, and have posted 174 runs on the board and RCB is yet to bat. it will be interesting to see what happens.
