‘Apni job ke din gin lo…’: Mohammed Shami lashes at media reports claiming him retiring from Test cricket
Shami lashed at reports that claimed his Test retirement
Veteran Indian pacer Mohammed Shami lashed out at media reports that have been claiming that he is going to retire from Test cricket as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have done the same thing ahead of the series against England. As the pair of Rohit-Kohli have retired from the longest format of the game, a media outlet reported that Shami will also leave the format soon.
Mohammed Shami, who is currently playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, went to his official Instagram account and blasted the report which claimed his retirement.
“Very well done, Maharaj — start counting your days on the job now. How much adieu is left? You’ve already ruined our future like this! At least say something good for once. Today’s story was the worst. Sorry,” wrote Shami.
Mohammed Shami had his last appearance in the international format during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, where India beat New Zealand in the final and secured the title. He had taken nine wickets, and was the fourth-highest wicket-taker of the tournament.
