Nepal cricket was not as prominent as it is today. With an ODI status up their sleeves, Nepal have reached the level of the likes of Afghanistan, Ireland in cricket. MS Dhoni had lauded Nepal’s success when they were given ODI status. Two names resonate with Nepal’s success: their skipper Paras Khadka and spinner Sandeep Lamichhane. Both the players have solely handled the batting and bowling departments of the side.

Lamichhane, in particular, is over the moon. He became the first Nepal cricketer to be picked in VIVO IPL 2018 for his base price INR 20 lakhs. Delhi Daredevils (DD) are to take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Match 13 of 2018 IPL. Lamichhane is yet to play a game for the side.
