Durham leg-spinner Scott Brothwick and Kent off-spinner James Tedwell were included in the England Test squad for the remaining two Ashes Test matches, following the retirement of Graeme Swann.
According to The Guardian, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said in one of their statements, “Durham leg-spinner Scott Borthwick and Kent off-spinner James Tredwell have been added to the England Test squad following Graeme Swann’s retirement from international cricket.”
“Borthwick will arrive into Melbourne [on Monday], will train with England ahead of the fourth Test and will be available for selection for the Test beginning on Boxing Day. Tredwell will arrive in Melbourne during the fourth Test and will be available for selection for the final Test in Sydney beginning on 3 January.”
Swann announced his retirement from international and First-Class cricket with immediate effect on Sunday. The visitors are presently 3-0 down in the five Test Ashes series and have already lost the Ashes to Australia.
